Happy Thanksgiving!
We spent Thanksgiving with my family at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri. The weather was springlike during the day and chilly at night and we had a wonderful time. We had a 3 bedroom cottage and thankfully the nights were chilly enough to enjoy a fire in the woodburning fireplace. We took in a show, and did lots of shopping thanks to the outlet malls and a wonderful new shopping and dining area alongside the water called Branson Landing that had a very cool water and lights show after dark.

I'm married and in my upper 30's. My husband and I were married in 1999 and are best friends. We have a dog who is like our child, I have never been able to get pregnant despite multiple fertility treatments. I am hoping that losing weight through gastric bypass surgery might increase my chances of conceiving, but I'm not holding my breath. I have quite a few medical conditions, some are with me for life, some will improve or will be cured by having bariatric surgery. I am not really even the sick one in the family either. My dear husband has end stage kidney disease and is waiting on the national donor list for a transplant. We do his hemodialysis 6 days a week at home for which I am his care partner. I am a nurse, and have practiced inpatient medical-surgical acute care nursing and outpatient obstetrical and gynecological nursing, including high-risk pregnancy care. Topics of interest to me that may be addressed on this blog include; healthy cooking, fitness and exercise, dialysis and kidney transplant, weight loss/bariatric surgery, vitamins and supplements, pets, animal rights, music, current events, travel, nursing and healthcare.
